Customer came in for an alarm removal...

She came back 5 minutes later saying the backup camera wasn’t working.

After checking all connections in the car, smoke appeared from the rear driver quarter (which I never even got close to)

Turns out her BF decided to run the camera wire around the rear seat opening against exposed metal, rather than through the factory location which would trace either the truck unlock cable or the factory harness. Needless to say madness ensued.

Brought it in complaining of an oil leak. Saw it leaking from the pan so I thought it was the gasket, took off the pan and saw this. He’s in for a surprise, he just bought this car a couple months ago.

...I showed them the mountain of pine needles and the pieces of the squirrel cage. I replaced the motor and cage, cleaned out the pine needles. And gained a loyal customer.

...it was running just fine, we are rebuilding the trans and they opted for the oil filter cause we told them it was leaking.

I’ve been at this 30yrs and this one has got to be in the top five “what the hell were they thinking”cars

All 6 galled or cross threaded and a good 5/16 inch from tight ...not moving at all. Every one of them broke off.

he needed a bearing and brakes, he bought everything besides a wheel we put his tire on the spare wheel and he is back on the road

...always take customers out to show them what might be wrong with their vehicle. It’s a very good way to make sure that you build trust and the customer can actually see how bad things are in cases like this.
